The White Rose Figure Skating Club and York City Ice Arena were
honored to host the 2008 Regional Championships. With over 730 total
skaters, this event was a great opportunity for the Club, the Rink,
the City of York and York County.
More than 730 skaters ages 4 and up competed in the event, including
both Olympic hopefuls and relative novices.
The York County Convention & Visitor’s Bureau estimates
that the event had a $2.5 Million impact on the York economy, considering
hotels, meals and shopping money.
The top skaters from the Final Qualifying Rounds will move on to
either Junior Nationals or Sectionals and from there the top skaters
from Sectionals will head to the US Championships, being held on
January 20, 2008 in Saint Paul, Minnesota.
